How did they find the perfect location to Elope in B.C.?

Sam + Dino’s location was thoughtfully chosen by looking at what areas around the Fraser Valley would be perfect to get to by road and foot to host their elopement. In B.C. getting eloped with a little bit of an adventure is where it is at! But there are lots of beautiful locations in the backcountry that require more intensive hiking, helicopter rides and time to access.

Golden Ears Provincial Park hit all the key features for Sam + Dino’s evening elopement– Alpine Mountains, glacier lake, quiet shorelines not over populated with other guests. It clearly was a no brainer to start planning an elopement at Golden Ears Provincial Park. The lower mainland has a huge variety of locations to chose from but this spot has minimal distance to hike into, easy access to trail head, parking lots and super exciting! BATHROOMS!

One down fall of some adventure elopements in British Columbia can be the lack of bathrooms around – But Golden Ears is stocked with washrooms, so it is one less thing to think about packing out when your done your elopement, if you know what I mean…..

Golden Ears Provincial Park is a short distance from Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The beautiful park is one of British Columbia’s largest Provincial parks and a popular camping location during the summer. Knowing this park is a popular destination for many others, an end of summer ceremony only made sense to avoid the crowds.

When planning for this elopement we wanted to keep the budget in mind. Golden Ears Provincial Park has brought in the need for park visitors to register for day passes during high seasons on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Planning an elopement during the week limits the need for an additional pass aside from your park permit that is required for a special event and your photographer to capture your day.

Eloping in B.C. can be bold and elevated – décor, details, cake cutting and champagne don’t need to be excluded from the fun! So Golden Ears was perfect to be able to keep the punch they wanted for their day. The parking lot is a short 1km hike in, so with your witness’ and a wagon getting set up can be a breeze!

We were able to get down to the location with so much ease, dressed in sweat pants, hair done, make up done and attire packed and ready to go. Once they got down to the Golden Ears location the set up started for their elopement.

Sam + Dino able to take a moment away from each other to put on their lovely wedding attire, take some deep breaths away from each other before starting their journey into forever. Anxiously waiting to see what each other would look like, they dressed for their evening with help from friends.

Once they were ready in their gorgeous attire, it was officially time to lay eyes on each other, lock in their gazes and head to the alter.

Taking in each other was a breath of fresh air, but so was the landscape, the peace of the lake side and thought of moving into a future that was binded under the falling sun. The last bit of the sun was peaking over the mountain alpine just in time for their vows.

They each sang their vows to each other through laughter and excitement with the sun closing over the mountains concluding their ceremony.

There ceremony set up was perfect, minimal, elegant and just how they envisioned it. A bonus to Golden Ears for an elopement is being able to set up a lovely ceremony with local vendors because the accessibility. Sam + Dino’s elopement was highlighted by florals from ForFlora and awesome wedding rental set ups from Valley Weddings.

With the ceremony concluded – they had their cake and ate it to. Enjoying the last of the evening light with friends surrounding them and laughter echoing across the waters. They shot off and shared some champagne and conversations into the moon rising hour.

All and all it was a perfect evening compliments with love in it’s truest form.
